Membership Hand Book

2006

NSBA membership requires that you be a nice enough person to be invited home for a family dinner, love to fish, have thick skin giving and receiving  kidding and ribbing,  be able to tell great whopper lies, have a good sense of sportsmanship and meet minimum participation requirements.
Here are the club’s guidelines for maintaining good membership status.

PARTICIPATION:  Our single most important requirement to be a member in good standing is participation.
You are expected to fish four of our six monthly Tournaments in order to remain in good standing as a member.
Fishing less than four of our season's tournaments are handicapping your chance at Angler of the Year or Top Gun.
In addition, if you don't go then a boater  or non-boater may be left without a partner.
(we do have standby's but particapation is everything in our club)
All that is expected of you is to attend the monthly meeting and one tournament per month (if possible)
You are free to fish any money tournaments or our optional weekend Buddy Tournaments.
We want you to fish as much as your time allows.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP:  Because we have such a full range of events in our schedule, we require that North Shore Bass Anglers be your exclusive fishing club. When a member does not participate in an event another member is left out in the cold and unable to fish a tournament. Membership in other fishing clubs has proven to conflict with our club’s events and participation. We want true blue active NSBAC members hopefully fishing every weekend Buddy tournament outings (as often as you can but again they are optional events).

MEETINGS: You are expected to attend our monthly meetings. An important part of our club's format is making friends,  eating a good dinner and having a few drinks together and particapating in the club partner pairing draw.
It's also a time to honor the winners. The Club concept  is heavly related around monthly meetings and fishing together. Lack of attendence places your membership up for review by the board.  (There are exceptions that are determined by the board on a case-by-case basis)

CONDUCT: At no time may a member direct a personal attacks verbally or in actions, towards another member or officer of the club in a public venue. This includes all discussion and message board postings. You are expected to treat everyone with respect. If you have a problem with a member, a board member, a club ruling or any negative issue you are expected to deal with it in private, via e-mail, phone, in person or through a board member.
But never in a public platform or message board. We are a club for fun to make friends and have a good time.
Desputes or problems are handled privatly like gentelmen and usally get resolved in a fair and respectful way.

WEB SITE: Our club was formed and is run through our web site and via E-mail. You must have access to a computer and a E-mail account. It is your responsibility to check your E-mail and Discussion board to stay on top of things.
We do not (normally) make mailings or phone calls.
Most all communications are via the web site, E-mail and at Club meetings.
You may not change your club name or club login & password in the message board login.
Doing so will disrupt your voting ability and access to various areas and the Roster pages of our web site.

Members Only Board   MESSAGE BOARD: The message board is for chit chat and kidding around.
This board is the club's personality. This is also used for club matters reflecting on club business .
You are encouraged to present your ideas or comments on subjects on this board.
Arranging fishing trips and passing along fishing trip information is considered club business.
Never enter into a personal argument or overly negative issue on this board.
At times we will host discussions looking for your input.
Always post your replies in as civil and as positive manner as possible.

VOTING BOOTH: The voting booth is a tool for the Board to get a consensus from the membership on matters effecting the club.  The Executive Board makes all final decisions.  If you want to see a change or have a suggestion, discuss it with a Committee Board member.  It will be addressed at a board level and possibly brought to the floor at a meeting for open discussion, if deemed necessary.
The Board is always ready to listen to any ideas or complaints and react to them for you.
The board of directors made up of the committee heads that run the club's various programs.
This structure was done to eliminate uncomfortable arguing and boring club business from the meetings.

MEETINGS: The monthly meetings are for you to come to eat, drink, talk fishing and have a goodnight out with the "BOYS". It is the job of the board to provide a great club, honest Tournaments and fun activities.
It is your job to participate, to learn, to teach, to share information, have fun and catch lot's BASS.

EXPENSES:  Boaters and Non-boaters are expected to share all expenses equally.
A minimum daily expense contribution for each local days fishing would be at least $25.
The boater's have a huge investment in their Boat, Tow vehicle and equipment.
Non-boaters should not have to be asked to contribute.
Fairly simple and straight forward.... it's about having fun and enjoying our sport and not take it to serious.

NOTE: if you're a Blood & Gut's type fisherman ... then this club is probably not right for you to join.
